Is it possible to operate a house boat in the great lakes or is the water to rough for this type of boat?

I am sure you could run one in protected bays, rivers coves, but you should always be aware of the weather and the weather changes. safe boating is no accident! good luck!

I not real familiar with the waves, but, you need to ask and be sure. If, you not see a lot of Houseboats, it may not be a good choice. It can get swamped from on coming waves on the bow. I have seen people rig a V type setup on boats like this and they be OK, but, I have also seen Houseboats in the Gulf floating nose down from being swamped.

It depends on the size of boat. Usually - yes. But if the weather is bad then it will be dangerous.
