How do I see what programs I have running at start up and modify the list? I am running Windows XP?

from the start menu click on
Run
enter in
msconfig
select
startup

and thats where all the programs that start up with your computer have their entries.

You can run a utility called MS Config.
Click the start menu, then "Run" then in the window that pops up type in "msconfig" and hit Enter.

It will bring up several tabs with information about what your computer will run by default.

Either from the Start menu,

You can go to the start button, select programs, select the start up folder and view the programs. To remove them, right click and delete.
