Tell me who is going to win the world series this year?

You have to tell me why you think they will win and you CAN NOT PICK YOUR FAVORITE TEAM. You must tell me your favorite team and I will award 10 points to the person who gives me the best reason some other team will win.

My favorite team is the Yankees and that should speak volumes. I think that the LAA Angels are going to win the world series for a 3 reasons. The starting pitching has got to be the one of the best in MLB. The relievers they have and the manner they are used and the ability to generate runs with "small ball" . It comes down to doing things right and executing plays and they do it very well. They play very good for their manager and very fundamentally sound.

My favorite team is the Padres. As much aas I like to think that my team has a shot, I think that the Angels have the best chance. They have a .291 team avg, they avg 5.2 runs per game and Vlad hasn't really heated up yet. They are hands down the best built team for a 7 game series. Lackey and Escobar are both top 5 in ERA, Ks, wins and innings pitched. K-rod has blown only 2 saves all year and they have won 118 straight games when leading going into the ninth, by far the best in baseball. Casey Kotchman has out produced any 1st baseman in the last 6 weeks. The youth is suprisingly comming into there own. The only problem I see them having in the playoffs is the Red sox, but I don't think their starting pitching is consistant or good enough for a 7 game series. GO PADS!!!

This is what i think the play-offs will look like.

AL:
Red Sox
Tigers
Angels
Mariners

NL:
Mets
Padres
Cubs
Diamondbacks

The Mariners and Red Sox would probably get eliminated in the first round. The Angels and Tigers would go all the way to game 7, where Justin Verlander pitches a close game shut out.

The Cubs and Diamondbacks would get eliminated in the first round. And the Padres will beat the Mets in 6.

In The World Series, the Tigers will sweep the Padres.
The Tigers rotation of Verlander, Rogers, and Bonderman is enough to destroy Peavy and Young, and during game 4 they will probably have Verlander pitch on 3-4 days of rest.

My favorite teams: Red Sox and Angels.

EDIT: I was reading through it and I have Verlander pitching game 7 of the Angels Series, and then games 1 and 4 of the Padres series. That is physically impossible, but I will keep it the way it is. =)

I am Giants fan. So that is out of the question of them winning the World Series.

Being objective here, I am going to say the World Series will be the Angels and the Mets.

Angels will win the World Series because they have the pitching, they have good starting pitching and a very good bullpen, they can get timely hitting and they know how to win.

The tigers are nice but they choke in the clutch. Yall saw last year against a St. Louis team they coudn't take them. I think that the Yankees or Red Sox will win it because in the clutch they have all the tools. When you look at the Red sox they have Beckett, Schilling, and Dice-K they can destroy any team when there on. I still didnt even say nuthin about the hitting. They are complete when u look at them. The Yankees are my fav team so i have to pick them. Also the Angels they are dominant. Mo more to say about them

they have a dangerous 1-2-3 punch in the pitching rotation with schilling, beckett and dice-k when schilling gets healthy
julian taveraz is hot so thats a solid 4th picher behind 3 pitchers who could all be aces on any team plus they are trying to get mark burhele from the sox and if they do that thats 4 aces on there staff
then the hitting rameriaz ortiz drew and lowell will all heat up soon juilo lugo and coco crisp will finish the season at there average numbers and varitick is always solid
so red sox in 6 over the NL in the world series

I honestly think, that the Angels are going to win.. I hate to say it, because I hate them, but I can't say Seattle so lemme just explain why. Their pitching is arguably the best in baseball, with starters like John Lackey, Kelvim Escobar, Ervin Santana, Jered Weaver, and Bartolo Colon... Their number 5 guy is better than many teams' number 1. They have the best one-two punch setup and closing corps with Shields and K-Rod. They are the biggest threats on the basepaths, especially with Scioscia calling the shots. And last, their defense is like a net, not many things get past Kendrick and Cabrera.

New York Mets. Aside from being my fav. team, I really believe they will pull it out and win the world series this year. Last year was so disappointing for them, they deserve it this year. They have had an awesome start this year, even though a few road bumps lately, but this most recent sweep of the Athletics I think has brought them back the confidence they need. In addition to having a team stocked full of awesome players like Reyes, Beltran, Wright, etc., they also have one of the most unified teams out there. I mean they all shaved their heads together! It doesn't get any tighter than that. Good players and skills win games, but great, unified teams wins championships!!

I am an Angles fan but I think the Tigers have a good chance to win because they have a very good balance of hitting and pitching and they have the ability to beat you 12-10 or 1-0.

My favourite team is the Blue Jays and I know they won't win it, so, I think it will be the Los Angeles Angels vs Arizona Diamondbacks in the world series and Los Angeles will come out on top, because they have amazing speed on the bases, consistent pitching, and Vladimir Guerrero
