About an hour ago...that I have HPV. I am scared out of my mind, can't stop crying and I don't know how to help my boyfriend. He wants to know how it affects men and if he, for sure, has it. I am going in Thursday for my appointment and will know more then...but right now...I can't stop crying. I feel so bad and horrible because I don't know what to do or how to feel. I don't know how to make my boyfriend feel better.

Please...anyone...only serious answers please, I'm already freaking out as it is...please help me with any answers you can give me. Especially about the male and how I can make him feel better, somehow...I doubt I can.

Wow! I am so happy to hear that you were honest with him. Getting him checked as well as you continuing to seek treatment is a great choice, good job.

Just remember each of you is entitled to feel whatever you feel. Keep being honest, allow him his own reaction (so long as it is a safe one to be around), keep seeking information. The CDC has some info on HPV at the site listed below.

I wish you the best of luck. Please be gentle with yourselves and each other as you go through this.

You have to boost your immune system by taking vitamins and eating healthier so your body can fight hpv off or keep it at bay so it doesn't turn into anything worse like cervical cancer. Your boyfriend shouldn't worry as much because the HPV virus is a bigger threat for women than men.

I've just read in some cases the hpv virus can cause cancer in men also. So you guys need to think this over.

I don't really know much about the virus except that it is the most common STD. It doesn't make you dirty or nasty because it's a virus which is good you caught early because some types of HPV can cause cervical cancer. There is no cure for it and it should go away on it's own. Tell your boyfriend the truth because who knows maybe he gave it to you. I don't think it has any serious effects on men.

There is no "cure" for HPV infection, although in most women the infection goes away on its own. I recommend you adn your boyfriend talk about this and decide if you are going to continue having intercourse. I am sorry about this and if you guys really love eachother stay together. But for now just wait to go for your appointment and have no genital contact with anybody at all.

First off--this is a normal reaction. It's scary! Try to relax. Scream, yell, etc. Do WHATEVER it takes.

Right now the best thing you can do for your boyfriend is to be honest with him and yourself. Let your emotions out, but also let him sort through his own emotions. In a few days, come back and ask him what you can do for him.

Calm down sweetie...it's not the end of the world. Sit down together, get on the internet, and look it up. There are TONS of health websites that can answer all of your questions...at least until you get to the doctor.

it's not an easy thing but you have to be strong and just talk about it with your boyfriend. Be calm , and honest when you talk about it. Just be glad it wasnt something worse and just work on accepting it.
