Book a ticket to Newquay from Paddington in advance on First Great Western and you could do the journey very cheaply - in the region of £15 each way if you book early enough (its worth being flexible with your dates to get the best fares)

Hitch-hiking.
National Express Coach
Train

In that order.

Additional: That *was* a serious answer! Hitch-hiking is free. Coach is cheap. Train is dearest. Once you get to London you can take the tube.
