If you bought a domain and are registered as the owner of the domain and you have not fallen behind in domain registration fees you can transfer the domain's name servers to whomsoever you wish. You can change registrars (some will charge you a transfer fee). You can even sell it to someone else just like any other asset you own.

Once you fall behind in registration however, things get really messy so don't do that.

I would transfer it to GoDaddy or your Web Hosting company if they are a registrar.
