Your DSL modem likely has three ports on the back: telephone line in, USB out, and Ethernet Out. If you have an ethernet card already installed in your computer i would just use that connection. you will need no drivers and it will work best. Connecting to USB is possible but i would only advise as a last resort. (why bother bogging your system down with more drivers?) The drivers can be downloaded. (i know you are thinkin "but i dont have my modem hooked up how do i download?!?" - how did you post this question?) Just look for a manufacturer and a model number and try the maufacturer's website or google to try to find what you need.
Good luck

Get the model number off the modem.

Find the manufacturer's support website.
Download the driver there.

Problem solved!
