Early 80's I had it bad for (yes laugh if you must, or look-up if unfamiliar) .... MENUDO!! Does anyone else even know who Ray Reyes is? About the time Ricky Martin joined is about when I said goodbye..
Then I was all about Huey Lewis and the News..."IF THIS IS IT!" looking back it's hilarious to me how passionately I would sing back then, words that could not possibly have the relevance that the would have to an adult. I guess I just really felt for Huey...

And late 80's my lil bro was all about some Def Leppard, while I preferred my Van Halen. (who I wasn't into with David, but now was way into with Sammy)

VH is still a part of me, more than most music, as my friends will attest to... and while a part of me hopes for them to have some peaceable solution to their lead singer woes, I'm just glad I got to see them one more time with Sammy for the opening gig to the 2004 tour. Even with an injured leg I stayed on my feet 75% of the show!

When I actually was IN the 80's, I liked U2, The Police, classic rock like The Who, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, etc. Then also bands like Tears for Fears, OMD, The Cult, The Payola$, and some more of that borderline "alternative" music.

Then in the 90's my fave 80's music got deeper into some of the things I overlooked like The Cure, The Smiths, JAMC, Sisters of Mercy, Joy Division/New Order, etc.

Now, overall, I would say that definitely the best music for me to come out of that decade, and stretch before it and after it would be The Cure.
