Since they are not real, then they fall into the Monster Mythology of our world...they have a long history and very little verification to their actual existence...besides the present day cults that admire Vampire's, but they don't actually have the traits of the mythological Monster. but they can be dangerous. Disturbed and Evil Men and Women are the real monsters of this world, no matter what they claim their affliction is!

According two two of the oxford dictionary definitions;
1: An imaginary or legendary creature, such as a Harpy or Centaur that combines parts from various human or animal forms.
2: One who inspires horror or disgust. ex-a Monster of selfishness.
It would be both a monster and an undead. You're both right.

I would classify as undead for gaming purposes.
If you put one in a movie, it would be consider a monster.
So it could be both. Can't say its one or the other, at least in my opinion.
Been a while since I have been called a kid *grin*

Well, first things first: vampires don't exist.
But if they did, I would classify them as monsters because 'monsters' is a term used to refer to killing or mutilating creatures.

Yes. I would say that monsters are the whole group and any name you could give would fit in that group: vampire, zombie, boogeyman, frankenstein's monster (easy one) werewolf, etc.

Yes they're monsters - they feed off of people, killing them in the process. How is that not a monster?
