First of all what's the point in having a doctor if you can't ask him a health question.

It's normal to eat more around your period. I don't eat sweets, but that week before my period I sure crave chocolate. And when I start bleeding, I crave red meat big time.

You will know your body better than anyone else; you live with it everyday.

200 - 500 calories more won't hurt you. However, if you would like advice, ask your doctor to refer you to a nutritionist.

yes. some women crave salty stuff, some women crave sweet stuff, and some women just crave extra stuff.
If you are getting that kind of reaction from your Dr., your Dr must be a male. Try to find a woman Dr. who specializes in women's health. It's your prerogative!

oh yeah that's completely normal.. it's also normal to gain more weight from said calories and get loads of pimples...
but once you lose your bloated tummy everything goes back to normal for the next 24 days or so.. haha

Yes, craving more food is your body's way of getting more nutrients in order to rebuild the uterine lining.

maybe it's not really the amount you ate that may have affected your period, but rather what kind of food you ate and how you ate them
like my mom has told me b4 that during your period, it's not a great idea to eat/drink things that are cold (things from the fridge..) b/c according to her you might get stomach pains now and/or in the future (now is when you get like "cramps" b/c the coldness makes your stomach glands or w/e contract, possibly)
so yeah, maybe it's what you ate that affected your quantity of bleeding

what i mean is, idk if the quantity of calories you eat can actually affect or have a profound effect on your period
however, i do know that the kinds of food you eat (cold, hot, w/e) may
(u can get cramps when you fill an empty or near-empty stomach with cold things, and plus, even when you don't have your period and you do that, that's not very good for your stomach. can be harmful, according to my mom, dad, and grandmother<--she knows how to keep her body healthy nutrition-wise)

hoped that this has helped!! bye!

Ask your new doctor. If he/she is any good, you will get an answer.
