i recently began taking the depo birth control shot again after I had my baby. The first time I was on it I had no problems but this time I seem to be really irritable. I snap at my husband and my kids all the time. Has this happend to anybody else? I tried reading about the shot but I didn't seen anything about irritability. I don't know if it is the shot or the added stress of a 3rd child and no sleep or what. Just need to know if it happends to anybody else. I go next week for another shot and I don't want to keep getting it if that is the reason I am like this. Thanks in advance

ive actually been loosing weight on it. but i also noticed bad cramping but no period i didn't have one the 2 yrs I was on it before but never had the cramps.

Yes it happened to me...to the point that i went to the doc about it. They made me stop taking it, and put me on an anti depressant, which i didn't really need. As soon as I stopped the Depo my mood returned back to normal. I personally would never take it again.

I think it is very important that you talk with your doctor about the effects it is having on you. It very well could be the Depo. After pregnancy your hormones change and Depo is also hormone base. However, it could also be postn partem-depression. Call your doctor and let them know. The ring was a good option for me when I had to get off the Depo. I was advised that you should not take depo for more than 5 years.

Oh yeah, I had horrible mood swings for the FOUR years I was on depo.
I am so glad I'm off that. I would really reconsider the shot.
I went to Kariva (pill) and I have not had any of the horrible side affects I had on Depo.

yes i have heard of this before, i knew this one girl and she was really bitchy and she got the shot. i sugest the pills, i also heard the shot makes you gain weight and if you just had a child i wouldn't want that! good luck!!
