There really is no 'safe' way to drop your body temperature. Your surface temperatures can safely drop slightly. To cool your surface temperature, do the obvious things such as swimming, taking cool a cool shower, drinking ice water, standing in the mist of a hose, having a water balloon fight, and so on.

Wow! You changed your avatar again, Sandy! You might consider taking off the hat... it might help. LOL
Instead of popping pills, try my little remedy that works for me. Go hop in the shower with it on lukewarm. After you wash away the sweat, start to turn the temperature down to slowly cool your body temperature. When you get to the point of being chilly, turn the water off. Don't dry off. Just take a towel to sit on and plop yourself down in front of a fan. I guarantee that eventually you'll get cold and have to put clothes back on. I do this at night when it's really hot. I get so cold that I have to cover up with the blankets. And I don't get hot at all the rest of the night.

No! ~ Go have an ice cold shower, dont dry off...just walk around the house naked. You will get the chills! Throw your clothes on and go out side. Stay in the shade and drink icy cold water!!! lol
~ Avoid AIR CONDITIONERS!! Your body can not climatize if you stay in air conditioned rooms/stores/work.
~ Dont think of the warmth! just keep saying to your self " Its not that bad. Its not that hot"

Mind over matter works for almost everything!

Take a cool shower, leave your hair wet. Drink cool water, don't drink alcohol. Carry a small battery operated fan and a mister bottle, mist and fan yourself as needed.

someone already came close to the answer..in india drinking the hot tea...also .if you notice most indian food is very spicy..by eating chilli and curry this also gets your bodies metabolism working to cool down from the inside(okay i dont know exactly what it does.) but it is why people from a hot country eat so much spicy food.it cools them down...eventually...maybe with your tongue burning you wont notice the heat????

I've never heard of anything like that, but if I were you, I'd just wear something really cool and drink a frozen water bottle. You could also have a jumbo freezee =)

actually, my mom is really into herbal teas & supplements & all that crap & she always says that aloe is really cooling. i remember her having aloe juice in the refrigerator when i used to live at home. you can buy it at one of those health/natural shop things. maybe even gnc. Aloe in general is very cooling & soothing. but i do know for a fact that by drinking this, it will cool your system when you're dehydrated & overheated in hot temperatures. good luck

Logically, (remove the winter gear from your avatar) and in real life drink plenty of water and also try some Gatorade so that you can replace the electrolytes that leave through your sweat.
