You're kidding right? Damn dude.. do you get carpet burns on your knuckles when you walk into the room?
Women have been serving in law enforcement long before you were even born, and have been doing so with distinction. I have served with a couple of female officers that I am actually afraid of, and no, they aren't dykes.
My training officer and first partner was a female, and I learned some very valuable lessons from her, that have kept me alive in my 30 year career.
The answer is a resounding YES! Not only should women be "allowed" to be Police Officers, I hope a female officer puts you in your place one of these days, and in a manner that will be totally humiliating to you.

OMFG. Why not. While I agree that women have less physical strength than guys, I don't see that as a reason to preclude from being acceptable applicants for being a policeperson. I know quite a few guys who are members of a police force that would not satisy the criteria required to be a cop. (They're weaklings). Women are more likely to be less a threat to lawbreakers, and actually are more likely to be able to diffuse a conflict. So dahlink, try to be more objetive when determing the qualifications for a law enforcement position.

I dont see a problem with women being police officers If they dont mind pulling over a truck full of hillbillies in the middle of the night and feel safe about it.

Oh my yes they should! I worked with a woman officer who could clear a redneck bar at 2 a.m. better than a male officer could...she had eyeballs [command presence, i.e.] that would freeze Bigfoot in his tracks and could perform sheer magic with a baton. In the bad old days, women in police work wound up searching female prisoners, working lost child cases, etc. Nowadays they're out on the street doing the same jobs a guy does. Oh yes...the woman officer I worked with is now a deputy chief. In her earlier days, she also cured a whole shift of "dickless Tracy" jokes and nudie photos on the wall.

Only people who are qualified and willing to be police officers should be police officers. There are indeed some women like this.

They might as well.
She'll have to be careful when doing street duty in drug traffic areas. A 250 lb. male high on crack will most likely attack a 120 lb. petite female. He figures he has nothing to lose and is double her size.

I would defend to the death her right to be a police officer if she so chooses, but I don't think it is a good idea, for obvious reasons as stated above.

Sex is an irrelevant matter provided they are required to pass minimum standards tests and provided these minimum standards are not lowered specifically so women can join.
A criminal will not go easy on her because of her sex. It is imperative that the officer is aptly capable and aptly protected.
