Yes, the 1995 325is has VANOS for its M50B25 engine. VANOS was introduced in 1992.

There were 2 different iterations of VANOS.

In Single VANOS, only the intake cam was affected by the VANOS system, and adjustments in engine valve timing were made in a finite number of discrete 'steps'. Later, in the late 90's (I believe started in the E46), double-VANOS systems vary both intake and exhaust valve timing, and are continuously variable (no steps).

The system adjusts the intake and exhaust camshafts to alter the valve timing in line with the position of the accelerator pedal and the engine speed.

It allows the engine to provide more torque at low revs and more power at high revs.

For those interested... Vanos actually stands for VAriable NOckenwellen Steuerungi. (Someone will bound to ask this question sooner or later) . :-)

Yes, starting in 1993 the M50 motor in the 325 had the vanos system. Double VANOS wasn't introduced until the E46 chassis.

On the e36's, 1992 was the only year without vanos... so... yes you have it. :)
