but it drives me NUTS when people misspell the names of their "favorite" bands. I can understand some mistakes due to typing fast................but when people on here claim to "OMG..... I LOVE the Beetles, Lynard Skinard, Led Zeplin (insert any other gross misspelling here)"........... it drives me crazy.

So my question to you all.........does it piss you off too? Do you think it would bother me/you/us as much if we didn't see it so often?

Yes. I can understand a typo now and then, but if a certain band is actually your favorite, you should at least take the time to learn the band's name and spelling. Just my opinion.

It makes me wonder if the band really is their favorite if they can't even spell the name right. Of course I see this more commonly with new pop or alternative bands than classic rock bands. Seems the notorious bad spellers aren't usually listening to bands like Led Zeppelin. Thankfully! :p So in other words, yes it pissed me off too.

I think the true question is does this make them any less of a fan? Ive been a big fan of DMX since he came out, and only recently (2 years ago) learned what DMX stands for. Does that make me any less of a fan? I realize that the spelling is correct, but the principal is the same.

Well, I spell Lynard Skynard wrong all the time (is it correct this time?!?!?jk, i know its wrong) but one thing that reallt irks me more is when people refer to those bands as "he". Like alot of people call Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd he and that really annoys me.

I agree. If a person is going to have a favorite band, they need to at least be able to spell the name.
I see it all the time..I don't get it. :/

It does piss me off too. I think bands like that have earned their recognition and a real fan would do the homework and pay them proper honors.

No, it doesn't bother me when they spell the name of a band wrong, but it drives me nuts when they butcher the English language. I mean come on, this site gives you spell check, use it. AGHHHH.

It doesnt really piss me off. It kind of makes me laugh, actually. It's like, what kind of moron claims something as one of their "favorite", and then can't spell the bands' name. Kind of makes you wonder if they're saying something just to say it.

lol, I just find it funny. It makes me think these people are posers. I mean, if you truly are the biggest fan wouldn't you have noticed the correct spelling? Another spelling mistake people make often is spelling it Jimmy Hendrix....geesh

Yeah, that IS particularly aggravating! It annoys me to read bad spelling and bad grammar and lousy punctuation to begin with, but to misspell your "favorite" band/artist's NAME is downright unjustifiable!!!
