Stormy, a hillbilly is one that comes from the mountains. A redneck is someone who just chooses to live a redneck lifestyle. I do sometimes consider myself a redneck, but I don't come from the mountains. I come from S. Georgia. That's about like saying all the folks are D*mn Yankees because they come from above the Mason Dixon line. Not true. Don't stereotype some very educated people as hillbillies because of ignorance. Hope that helps clear it up!

The above answer is right on, people who live in the mountain towns (sometimes called hollers) are called hillbilly, mostly this applies to people from the Appalachia's on the east coast of U.S. While a redneck is someone who lives in a sort of "southern" way.
