they still rock but Greg Lake lost his beautiful voice
Tarkus is very amazing wonderful keyboard and drumming in there

I preferred Brain Salad Surgery. I like the Tarkus suite but I thought the songs on the other side of the record were very weak. ELP makes records that have 2 or 3 really good songs and the rest are mediocre at best.
I really liked ELP in my teens and early twenties but I can't listen to them much anymore.

Tarkus was a great album, but have always been partial to Brain Salad Surgery.
All 3 of them are great musicians. Had the priviledge of seeing them on tour for Black Moon. Amazing how Keith Emerson can shove knives in a Moog Synth, beat the crap out of it and still sound like a work of art.
Not from Tarkus but: "Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends...."

I always liked "Battlefield." Best song on the album, IMHO.
But, I'm more of a Pink Floyd guy.

dunno but i know i have an elp flexi vinyl single promoting benny the bouncer and stuff...whats it worth ? anyone know? complete with a gatefold skull sleeve!......brain salad surgery thats it!
