I need to rewrite the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence so that a modern day reader could better understand it. Help please.

If you know what it means, I would suggest that you grab a piece of paper (or open a word document) and write out the meaning. From there it is just editting.

the site below offers a type of translation of the Declaration. It might be interesting to look and see what you can do to reword it.
Basically, what it says is...
We believe that these things are true. That all people are free, and deserve to live a life that is happy. That we believe a government is needed to make these things happen. That a government is to be chosen by the poeple who will live under it. That the people have the right to establish a government and the right to change it, or even abolish it, when it no longer is working.
At least thats the basics......

So you go to an online high school!! Is that supposed to intimidate responders to your question? I doesn't. AND, if you expect a response, give those on this site the paragraph you are to rewrite. Better yet, work it through yourself. It's not that difficult.

ohh cool i did that for my history class..we had to do the first parahgraph. just change all the big words to smaller words...just think simple that all to it.. at least in your class you didn't have to rap it out to your classmates haha i had to do that...but it helps with my shyness.
