When your privacy is not respected, and you want to be isolated for a moment, how disturbing is to receive phone calls any moment of the day from problematic persons, in order to afford their insecurity and do the psychologist to their inexisting problems?Or to hear nonsense which take your time?

I speak generally, not about specific persons...There are not specific ones, just ''friends''who have nothing to do...

These insecure persons, that need u to hear their problems are not necessarily trying to disrespect your privacy...they probably don't even think about that. They are thinking of themselves..... Their problems (whether inexistent or real) seem real to THEM and they are reaching out to you. It might seem like nonsense to you, but to them the problems need to be dealt with. Try not to be mean to these people....the ones that are the least lovable are usual the ones most in need of love. But as the others say, set your boundaries....

I think this is the lack of discretion of is the main cause of effects on life these days. Most of the people want freedom/liberty and when it is not granted the reaction is sever.

I personally feel 'IN PRISON' due to lack of discretion.

It does not affect my life, because if something really disturbes me, either I advise the other party or I do not respond over the telephone (if I suspect the reason of the phone call).

I have to disagree with you only on the "title" of your question. That is not lack of discretion,it's lack of both common sense and proper manners.I used to have "friends" like this in the past too. They only remembered what my number was, when they had a so-called problem...but weren't there for me when I needed them(like when my mom got sick they didn't even ask how she was doing when we were on the phone).I 've cut those people out of my life.I'm in a place now that I know how to value my time and how to react to people who aren't worth it!I 've spent a lot of time and energy in the past, trying to please everyone but myself and trying to make everybody like me(I even changed my whole personality for two years of my life just to be liked by a certain group of people).I know better now...
It may be difficult in the beginning but you have to put yourself first|(I know this may sound egoistic).Or else you're gonna end up unhappy and with a lot of so-called friends who will disappear the moment you are gonna need them most.Spare yourself the heartbreak(God knows,I haven't) and focus only on your true friends, the ones who are there for better for worse...

When such a situation starts really affecting my life and my nervous system, I simply end it. I call those people back to their boundaries. If they do not understand, I walk away. Time and peace of mind are assets we must not waste on anybody.

"setting our boundaries" is the key to all.

Everytime you need to be by yourself, just pull off the phone... And if you expect some important calls, just don't answer the ones that you recognise as disturbing by the number shown on the apparatus. It's as simple as that....

Girl, get your number changed & unlisted. That individual will suck you dry given the chance. Seriously, end it or create new boundaries.
