I've only taken it for 6 days and unfortunately now sex has got the better of me and we didnt use a condom. I've been told that i must wait at least 30 days for the pill to be effective, but the instructions that came with the pills said i would be covered straight away. So could i be pregnant or what?

You could certainly be pregnany. A barrier method must be used when you're first starting oral contraceptives.

Don't freak out.

Call your doc and schedule a visit and explain what happened. You might want to pee on a stick or go have an ultrasound done.

You've got options. Don't fret, babe.

You could be, as it takes a few weeks to become fully effective.

And, even if it IS fully effective, pills are NOT 100% protected against pregnancy, ONLY abstinence is.

yes you can still get pregnant.. 30 days is what your body needs to get use to the birth control before it to start to effect you and protect you from pregnancy... you should use birth control as a second method of protecting yourself from getting pregnant.. always still use a condom.. and since you seem to be very worry about pregnancy it helps if he pulls out before he finishes
