It should not be okay for black people to say it to each other if non-blacks cannot, otherwise it is one rule for them and one for everyone else.
The context is usually "My n......". This is a statement of friendship. To disallow non-black people from saying it is to state that black people cannot have non-black friends. This is either absurd or outright racist. Either way, if non-blacks cannot say it then it is separatist and exclusive and has no place in a society that seeks to embrace multiculturalism.

Yeah, I don't like it at all. F word doesn't really bother me. I used to say it all the time, but I've been trying to cut down. I despise the C word. Don't like the B word either. I don't know why some women think it's cool to call each other (their friends) that, just seems weird to me.

A swear word is a swear word, their all negatives ways to refer to people whether someone tries to excuse it as a positive term, like blacks calling other blacks "my *****'s" but if a white person says that its a problem....and no matter what it doesnt make it right for anyone to use any derogatory word that would hurt someone's feelings whether the other person thinks its kewl or whatever. Your not alone on thinking people need to use postive terms of endearment and not neg ones.

I don't think its ok for some groups to say it and not others, and vica versa. If some groups of people feel its okay to use, then it should be okay for all.
Take for example a south park episode I just watched where they weren't allowed by comedy central to show the prophet mohammed (no disrespect with the spelling), but had no problem letting them show Jesus taking a dump on other people.
Freedom of speech for all I say

Stop empowering words that do not fit your taste. Besides, you don't want to fall into the slippery slope of speech restriction

It bothers me when anyone is racist, sexist, or homophobic.
What such things mainly show is the ignorance of the speaker.
