OMG, where could you have gotten such a strange idea, hmmm, probably from Rove or his ilk. There is absolutely nothing at all that suggests this, in fact all indications are that the democrats will win the white house and have a larger majority in both houses. Republicans aren't going away neither, although some should.

Seriously, I doubt they are going anywhere, except perhaps back toward the center. Most democrats are not happy with the extreme left swing of the Democratic party in recent times.

The Democratic party is the oldest and largest political party in the world. Why should there be any difference after 2008?
If anything they may become larger.

I dont really think so. The republicans had the chance of a generation from 2000 to 2006 to push thru their agendas. They did nothing along the lines of smaller government, welfare reform, balanced budget etc.....many of us repubs in the middle have lost alot of faith

i just feel bad for any demo, they get to choose between hilary (hahahahaha, oh mann, what a joke), edwards (what a dipsh*t--said the war on terror is just a bumper-sticker-political-slogan used by bush to get his way, what an ignorant scumbag), and OBAMA (although he's a great speaker, no way will a man with the middle name hussein be elected for the president of the united states during this time).
