you all ready know the answer to this! Camaro's rule all day long and the new one is going to whup the mustang's butt. Somebody should tell Jessica a Stingray is a model of Corvette not camaro, another example of a lady trying to act like she knows what she is talking about. ;-) lol

Mustang, specifically the first gen, then the Mustang II, then the Fox body.

Iacocca, MacNamarra and the others originally intended it as a Euro style car that focused on handling over power. It used the same engines as the Falcon, but they did tons of work on the suspension to make it ride better. The larger engine didnt go in until 1966, then was increased pretty much every year after that. The Camaro came along and killed the original Pony car concept by making it a straight line performer instead of a finese car.

Iacocca helped bring that back with the Mustang II which again was a nimble sportier car that wasnt a steel brick like so many other American cars. The Cobra version was awesome since it was a good compromise between power and handling.

The Fox body, being the last Iacocca involved Mustang will always be an American icon. It brought back some of the beloved things of the car that the II overlooked-such as enough power to really make it move, but it didnt compromise the handling. It also looked better than the II. You know a car is good when its released in 1979 and theyre still using a majority of the underpinnings and all 20 years later, and its still selling well and still tearing it up at both the drag strip and auto X.
