So your describing constructing a 6 ft. ht. fence with posts every 8 ft. a part. The most important tool that you can use is a mason's line to set all your posts straight. first set the corner posts and and stretch the line taut and start making your marks every 8 ft. apart. If you are using wooden posts, you have some room for error and still recover. Be sure to fill the post hole full to the top with concrete to prevent rotting under the soil line. The string line is also good for setting the panels and keeping it level across the top.

I am not completely sure what your question is, but, if you don't have the cedar posts buy them long enough that after you put them in the ground two feet deep they are tall enough to match the height of your panels. Or you may prefer them a little taller. You can bed them with concrete if you like. They need to be placed on eight foot centers and you can nail or screw the panels to them. Hope this answers your question.
