My ex of 3 years ago is now married, every 10-12 months she contacts me.
Last time she was away on business and said she was bored so she thought she'd contact me.
I know it's not flattering but why contact me when her husband was at home, and why does she bother contacting me anyway?
I could really do with some good feedback on this please.

She does have a history of seeing guys behind her boyfriends backs but she's married now so i don't think she would do that now because her husband is very wealthy.

Just tell her how her contacting you makes you feel. It may be as simple as that to get her to stop calling. Ask her not to.

Sometimes when you contact an ex it is just a way of checking in on what you left behind. Some people have unresolved feelings and communicating with them helps them deal. She could just miss the type of openness in conversation the two of you shared.

Clearly she has some letting go issues. Alot of people do this and the majority of the time it's nothing just an innocent phone call to see how things are going but then again there is still the possibility that she still has feelings for you.

Anytime two people share their lives together it creates bonds and feelings that never really completely die. Her thinking of you on occasion is no different then wondering what happened or is going on with old high school or college friends. Don't make too much of it.

Probably because you answer the phone or whatever when she calls. Tell her in no uncertain terms to not contact you again, no matter what. Then hang up. If she does it again, file harassment charges.

Is she rather manipulative? My husband's ex calls him every so often - and makes it seems like she really didn't want to call but she had to - she is very manipulative.

He just takes it in stride - he knows how manipulative she is.

She is just as self-centered as when you knew her.
She might even think that her husbands money is safely hers and she can start up old habits.

she still wants to make sure you are dumb enought to answer her calls just in case the situation she is in right now does not work out. You are the fallback plan.

I'm assuming that because you didn't mention it, .you do not have any children with this woman, which would change my answer radically...

If you don't have any children together (and thus, must communicate regarding your children), then, my reply would be "because you let her".

She's playing games with you - stringing you along in case things don't work out, or she's planning on playing the victim claiming your stalking her.
