Did you start that project as a video DVD or data DVD?

You must copy the several CDs in to a temporary folder, then add it to the DVD compilation adjusting it for total size matching the capacity of the DVD.

Are you encoding the DVD file so it will upload at the desired 4GB. Try using dvdsanta it will do the lot for you.
It costs about $20 for the download but well worth it all my DVDs are done this way and I have a huge collection.

What about ZIPping 'em up and creating a self-extracting EXE, and burning that file onto the DVD?
