Yes the fin will grow back, but you'll have to get it away from the tiger barb or he will just continue nipping and will eventually cause your molly long term harm if not kill it outright.

Yes they will grow back. Tiger barbs are ornery little fish I have some very agressive cichlids (differant tank of course) and have NEVER been bitten by any fish other than my darn tiger barbs, those little buggers bite me everytime I clean the tank or have to reach in the tank. You can pick up a product called Melafix. It will help speed the grow back as well as help prevent infection. You may want to consider a seperate tank set up for the tigers. Don't forget that molly's do need aquarium salt in there water to live long happy lives. Either product can be purchased at any pet/fish store even walmart.

:You probably won't have to worry about tails growing back because the Barbs will keep on biting at them until they die. You will have to decide if you want to keep the Barbs OR the Mollies You can't keep both in the same tank. Tiger barbs, well most all barbs are aggressive fish. Mollies are not.
As bad a your Molly sounds, ya might as well get rid of the Mollies or put them into a different tank. SOON!!!! ASAP!!!

I know what you mean i had molly's too but unfortunately their tails don't grow back sometimes. Most of the time they do so i wouldnt worry too much.Just be careful how u put the fish together. Keep checking its swimming skills and its fin to make sure its getting better.tiger barbs and molly's..not a good combo go on-line and see what each fish is compatible or go to the pet store and see what fish each fish is in their tank with or ask the fish store attendant

If the tiger barbs nipped their fins all the way down to the base of the tail then no, I doubt the fins will grow back. Besides, the tiger barbs will kill it eventually. Try researching breed compatibility next time you want to add fish to your tank.

Fin nippers can cause alot of problems. Yes the molly's fins will recover if you take care to seperate it (hospital tank or even a nursing net in the same tank). You may need to give an antibiotic if you find that she starts getting an infection or other complications. Check with your local fish store about treatments (maybe take a picture of the fish's injuries to allow them to judge better). The molly may need no treatment except to be seperated until healed or it may need more.

Yes they will grow back. Tiger barbs are notorious as fin nippers, especially if they're kept in too small of a group (they're a schooling fish by nature). If you keep them in a group of 6+, they'll keep their aggressive behavior within their own group, and be more likely to leave the other fish alone.
