Don't do it on your own. Instead, find a Psychologist on your own. Then, when you make an appointment, ask them if they would tell your parents on your behalf. Have them make that call before the first appointment so that you can get your ride.

In this manner, it would be very difficult for your parents to deny your need to see a psychologist. They would see you had the initiative to make your own appointment, and they would have to try and deny to a professional that you had a problem while the professional would be in a position to request that he make that judgement.

I might be disappointed that my child didn't come to me first. But, I would also be proud of them to take the initiative to care for themselves and that this must be really important to my child. So, I would end up supporting the decision regardless of the lack of consulting me first.

Tell them that you have been having some things bother you lately, and that you need to see a professional to help you figure it out. If they don't understand, be more upfront and just tell them you think you need to see a psychologist. I would hope they will understand. If they do not, seek a guidence counselor at school for help.

I went to see a Psychologist when I was 16. Although my mother suggested it, I think that if you just come out and say it then they'll support you. Just tell them that you would prefer to go see one.
