I understand how you feel. Sometimes you just give so much of yourself to other people that you end up neglecting your own needs and draining yourself both mentally and phsycially. It's great to help your family and friends out, but if it becomes detrimental to your own wellbeing then you need to step back and look after yourself for a while.

Sometimes I do get tired of it but for the most part, I like to help people. Everyone has problems and there is always someone out there with a worse problem than ours.

Lord no. I relish in it.
To have the ability and resources to be the supportive one is certainly never something I would wish to be any different.
Instead of draining me, the simple act of being the one that other people rely on invigorates me.
I couldn't wish for a better life.

I've felt that way a hundred times thinking I have my own life to life, but when others depend on you and you care about them, to stop being supportive is as hard as letting them down.

Yes, I have a friend like that and she’s just draining me. If she only saw she wasn’t the only one with problems she would be a more positive person. Plus, she lashes out at people as well. The upside is that hearing her whine like that is teaching not to whine as much and to be more upbeat just so I don’t become like her!

nope, the root cause of depression is being focused on yourself. Problems actually work themselves out nearly 100% of the time.

Not really...cause its in my nature you know to be supportive in every case. but all my friends listen to my probs too and supportive of me too..so maybe that's why i never really feel tired of it.. ^^

Just to my kids, not anyone else. Everyone else has to deal on their own garbage, or go to a shrink. I used to do that for everyone, then I had kids. They need to leave you alone and learn to deal with stuff on their own.
