Joan of Arc was one of the greatest people to ever live. The fact that other great people who have lived held her in such high esteem is some of the best proof of her greatness. Winston Churchill said of her: "Joan was a being so uplifted from the ordinary run of mankind that she finds no equal in a thousand years." Mark Twain said: "She was perhaps the only entirely unselfish person whose name has a place in profane history." Sir Arthur Conan Doyle said: "Jeanne’s mission was on the surface warlike, but it really had the effect of ending a century of war, and her love and charity were so broad, that they could only be matched by Him who prayed for His murderers."

I find myself indifferent to Jeanne d'Arc, actually. Although I will admit to have been rather excited about having visited Rouen a while back.
I suspect Yogi has never met anyone French.

She was OK I guess. . .she certainly got the French Army going at a time when women had no clout at all . . except in the kitchen. . but her religiosity makes me less than enthusiastic. . Now Charlotte Corday. . THERE was a lady. .
