Most schools have a girls track team, and so girls aren't allowed on the boys team, otherwise they could do fine.

If she wants it then there is no reason she shouldnt try.
However it has little to do with heart and more to do with ability.
I am a woman and I can admit that physically men and women are different. Period. That being said I know some girls (I am not one of them) who can kick some boy butt in many sports.
If you are doing this because there is no girls team or the boys team gets more perks and you are trying to make a point then go for it. But if you are just trying to win the age-old boys vs girls argument then just join the girls team.

i dont think it matters if htere is no girls track ask whoever the coach is to start one because boys and girls track break down into different divisions so its not like she wouldnt be able to join but she wouldnt be practicing track like she should due to the differences between the two divisions.
just go for it and if its a no ask for a track team for girls or there like a bajillion clubs that have teams

don't think it's a matter of putting her "heart" into it. if she's slow and puts her heart into it, she'll still lose and this could cause her to be made fun of. if she's fast and the school has seperate, guy and girl teams, she would just be on the girls team, but a stand out! that's a good thing, right?

YES. This year a girl made the boys varsity football team in my son's school. My son said she is a great player who puts her entire heart into it. So YES. If it's what you want go for it!

Yes of course. I personally know a friend of mine who is faster than many of the varsity boys in the track team. Even though she's much older now, she can still run faster and harder than any of them. It just takes drive and perseverence.

Anyone with that kind of drive would crush 90% of the 12 Y.O boys I know. Go For It

If its allowed then I say "Why not?", she also needs to be able to compete with the boys. All the heart in the heart in the world isnt going to make you faster.

If she trains really hard for a distance race she would have a shot. But the better question is what is wrong with the girls team.
