Where, how, how long should it take and for how much money? Also, is there any reason not to, besides price? Thanks in advance.

Yes, folks, I know that would be a great option to get another vehicle, but I love this one and happen to plan on having it for 5+ years before getting something smaller like a Sportsmobile, but I have 5 kids, where can you put them in one of those? :) And when you get an RV that has been designed for off road use, its not only 4 wheel drive, but geared specifically for that and not just for getting traction off of the highways or on them with bad weather. 4 wheel drive just makes better sense.

sportmobile can do it, and it's verrrrrrrrrry expensive.
they also sell their own line of 4wheel drive camper vans that can go just about anywhere.

a 2 wheel drive means that only the back wheels does the pulling and a 4 wheel drive once it,s locked in then all 4 wheels does the pulling.

converting a 2 wheel drive rv to a 4 wheel drive is very costly cause the tranny will have to be change and also there will be transfer case install and also a new front axel and rear axel and new drive shafts

You can do anything, with enough money.

One of my friends welded an old celica body to a toyota 4-runner frame, and put 44" mud tires on it.

(Actually, that didn't cost much money - but it did look hilarious).

Instead, you would be better off trading it in and get a new 4X4 model. Too much trouble to change over. good luck.
