Well, You might be better off just changing it. Most of the PCV valves cost about $3 dlls. The cost of any test of diagnostic would be higher.

way back when i took my test which with a bus company who i applied for a job with it was £500, now though if you are going to do this out of your own pocket its a bit like hgv, not much change from £1000 - £1500! i would apply for a job with a bus company who will train you stick with them for a while then leave offer them the training fee's in instalments saying the job just aint for you the often agree just dont a runner someone i know did the company put a debt recovery firm onto him and he got found two years later the additional costs he incurred were astronomical.
Good luck it can be a right laugh in the job.

Go to autozone's web site and look up where your PVC valve is located. Go to the car and pull it out. Shake it up and down and listen for a rattle inside. If you hear the rattle then the PVC valve is good, then just put it back together. Also take a look at the filter in the air cleaner for the PVC filter. You can soak it in gasoline and clean it, then put it back in.

That costs around £1600 if you do it with any of the Training companies.....there are loads of them , You will have to shop around.....In this money they will provide you the Study Material as well as 5 days course after you clear your Theory test.
Make sure you think a lot before you go to any of the companies and pay them money .
Best of Luck to You (as well as to me Cause I am also trying to do that)
Regards

you can do that yourself. just take the pcv valve out and see if it rattles, if it doesnt, sometimes you can clean them with carb. cleaner, also check the hose and grummet(where the pcv valve goes into)
