I actually just got mine today, the only advice I can think of is try to find a category in which you have a little know how and can enjoy, then just try to get as many best answers in that category.

It's not about posting the most answers or getting a lot of best answers. If you answer a lot in a particular category then you will get a Top Contrib. badge for it, top contributors are top contributors because they greatly contribute to a particular category. Regardless of what everyone else says, it has nothing to do with best answers!

Good question, cant understand how 1 or 2 can get 1 with just a few answers, seems a bit odd to me.

The Orange badge of shame is awarded to those of us who have no lives and we spend all day and all night on here pretending we know stuff and then we get reported right left and centre when someone doesn't like our answers.

Activity everyday, 10% or better Best answer and you must also ask and vote. I call my orange badge my Orange Hunting Vest....I stand out better for the trolls by wearing it.

I found that you must keep your percentage up to 10 to 12 % but I don't really know they took it one time and it was gone for so long and now its back! lolâ¥j
