newest findings from statistics show that there is absolutly no connection between moon and behaviour of people.

these statistics were done in accurancy after stories arised the moon would influence people in some way.
it was shown that this is not the case, putting the whole thing to the field of urban legends

well insane people ... usually act up on almost anything triggering them, right ?

It isn't. Most forms of insanity are actually caused by chemical imbalances in the brain.

But-- as late as the turn of the 20th century it was a popular belief that insane people were "moon touched" which is where the word "lunatic" came from (it has the same derivation as the word "lunar").

Weird one this, evidence points both ways. Anecdotal evidence indicates murders and suicides increase during full moons. However, a recent study showed there was little evidence to support this. My arrest record shows I make more arrests for violent offences at the end of the month. However, this may be because some people are paid monthly and then can afford to drink more.
But the word "Lunatic" is supposed to derive from this premise of mental instability during lunar cycles.

It isn`t , except for those crazies that think they`re Werewolves . Because of that , the Moon was connected to all lunatics in one way or another , but that`s simply a myth as it doesn`t affect them one way or the other .

Insanity is in the mind . It`s something that , regardless of what you`ve heard , can never be cured ................ only controlled to a certain extent .

None...

But if you ask the police, they'll tell you that criminal activity seems to increase with the fullness of the moon. Probably nothing to do with any magical properties of the moon's light other than it makes getting around at night a little easier.

Because moon is also called Luna and you call crazy people lunatics.
