Chances are the power co. has an easement recorded. When you took title to the property, you took it subject to that easement.
Look at your Title Report and that will tell you if the power company recorded the easement, if yes then you are out of luck. If not recorded then you have a case.

No, its not your land its called the Right of Way (ROW) the power company own the easement in front of your land. The same goe for your telephone and cable they rent the poles to put the utilities on. Would you ask them to not bury the line in the ground so they dont mess up your grass? Get over it if you like power phone and TV.

There are several possibilities: *Some readers are equipped with extendable batons (like the police use), and can handle any troublesome dog when you are not around to restrain him, if that may be the case. *Readers often use a 'scope' or a set of binoculars to read the meter out of the yard, from a fence, or from the neighbor's house. This may be more likely if you have a mechanical meter (dial register), as they are easier to 'scope.' *The utility company may be using an automated meter reading system, such as RF transmitting meters, or meters that communicate over phone or power lines. *If you call them and inform them that you have a dog, they will add notes that the readers can access--before they enter your yard--from their handheld device. Hope that helps!

No you can not....the area on your proprty where the pole is located is known as a right of way. It was added to the original deed when the property was platted. The utility company has every legal right to access that property in their bussiness of providing electricity, can bring equipment into your yard to replace the pole, even if it entails removing your fence to get to it.

I am sure they have an airtight utility easement or it wouldn't be there. Get a copy of your plat map to see it going through your neighborhood. They should have no legal right to put anything outside the easement.

No they have an easement for it and legally there is nothing you can do to change that. Government and utilities usually have easements for poles, sewer/water lines and even land to reach their infrastructure.

I assume you mean "their" ugly pole?
Sure - you could sue them , but I imagine the deed for your property grants an easement for this purpose (have you reviewed it?) or you community has granted the right.
Check with you local zoning board

The CORRECT legal answer is yes, you can sue them.
Will you win? Of course not. The utility will show you a prescriptive easement attached to your deed and the case is over before the ink is dry.
