I am spending my anniversary in Coimbra in North Portugal. Can anyone recommend a good restaurant that I can go to?

Hotel Quinta das Lágrimas, but it's awfully expensive and I don't really think the food is that good.
I've been there a few times and I think the place is just beautiful with all the historical issues and all, but the chef could be a better one.
One good thing is you can book for a room and you'll enjoy the most of it. But it's expensive, I'm telling you.

If you want to party and not spend so much you can go to Mealhada where you find "Meta dos Leitões" ou "Pedro dos Leitões", and they will provide for you to be well fed. :o)
Don't forget to try the "espumante".
To Mealhada you can call a taxi or go by car with friends or relatives. It's not far away.
Wish you have the best one ever!

There are lots of good restaurants in Coimbra but I certainly recomend the one of the Hotel Quinta das Lágrimas, one star Michelin. The Hotel is also a must and it was a scenary of one of the greatest love stories of all times, between King Pedro and Inês. Check the link:
