I've heard alot of guys say that if he REALLY likes a girl (or admires her and can possibly love her), the more he doesn't tell her as much things and doesn't reveal his true self because the more he'll lose her?
I don't understand this at all - i always thought the more he'd be more himself, the more she'll be there and vice versa...you'd lose her more if you weren't being completely yourself....
can someone break this down for me, please?

We're scared shitless that you're feelings aren't the same. So we'd rather wait around keeping things the same as they are than risk ******* things up. That pretty much sums it up.

Ok, ok..I will tell you what I think because I am going through this right now.
I met a man over a month ago, this guy is great! Basically he is the kind of man my ex husband was, with all of the good things my ex was lacking (but not spotless by far LOL!)
Well I also mentioned how I like honesty because it just helps things move along and so this boy tells me basically everything he is going through right now (some legal issues, money and family issues, etc) well I FREAKED! I pretty much blew him off because of all his drama and financial issues and I labled him a loser and told him to step!
Well, after thinking I was being too superficial so I decided to give him another shot. He SEEMS to be taking care of his business...
I will not give him that long though. If in a few months I realize all his talk was just talk (about making things right) I will leave him.
Good luck! As a rule of thumb, most men and women lie in the intial dating time :p

Dear, I am 47 and I have overcome ! I thought it was getting better, but guess not. See when I grew up in the sixties we were drilled to be young men."Real men didn"t cry or show their emotions. Male was male and females were females only in marrige did the two mix. Then the gay crap showed up so that really made it uncool to be sensitive. So some guys still need to be taught that it is cool to be open and sensitive ! Be patient, I will ask Jesus to give you the strenght.

I think men are scared of being rejected by girls especially if they are good looking. perhaps its the same in a relationship I dont think a boyfriend would tell his girl if she was fat or stupid some men are different though and will say that. is that a good thing? not if it makes her sad. if the man is not open in your relationship and you have been with him for a long time tell him if he dosent change then you should dump him cos your future will be a sad on if you dont there are millions of ppl on this planet I bet you could get a new one just like that. its might seem sad but you will be happier with a boyfriend who is open with you!

Some guys are really shy and dont want to be rejected. They play it safe. Easier to say i like her then i love her, or i love you. He will come around once he gets more comfortable. Or when you two are alone and you an innitate the conversation and he then says so. Good luck, when he finally does it will mean the world.

Guys don't think the same as women do. They don't like talking about this touchy feely stuff. Usually if they are kind to you and keep asking you out- then that is a good indication that they like you. Also Don't push it, when he feels comfortable he will tell you how he feels. It most likely won't be like it is in the movies though. It will probably be like, "yeah I think I like you. So you wanna watch the game."
Don't expect men to be women. Don't expect them to always wnat to talk about this stuff- it makes them uncomfortable.

No self confidence to tellher. I hate rejection yet face it quiet often. I always tell a girl my feelings, a little too late. I sucks too!

fear of rejection....plain and simple. A guy wants to get closer to a girl so he's not going to say anything that he thinks may be too forward or damaging to his chances.
