She recently apologized to the people of Peru for the offense her hand bag caused. A hand bag purchased in China which advertised a quote from one of their Communist Leaders.

Oh c'mon. We all act foolish sometime or the other in life. We must accept it as a learning lesson and move on.

She apologized because there was a bloody revolution between which involved a Maoist named Sendero and the saying ("Serve the People") came from Mao Little Red Book.

We buy goods from China every day and support a Communist regime at the expense of Western jobs. We have had no bloody revolution because of an American Maoist.

Why should she apologize to us? To make us feel better for supporting a Communist country so that we can have cheap labor and goods? Will that stop Wal-Mart from importing things or change the trade deficit?

No, she doesn't owe Americans an apology because we were never held under the oppressive and violent communist regime that the Peruvians were.

Seems to me that any American offended by her actions is just looking for a reason to vent.

Peace maker beat me to it....

The slogan translates to "Serve the People"

This may have been used 30 or so years ago as a Maoist saying, but maybe today it can be reinvigorated as a means to let our own political leaders know that their job is to:

Serve the People..... A novel concept for sure.

Peace to all and I forgive Cameron Diaz and personally would take her to dinner to console her as she takes a beating for a fashion faux pas .... ;)

No, I could care less what Cameron Diaz does and I think it's sad that our society is fixated on actors and believe that they should all be looked up to simply for being famous. They're just people. Who cares.

She already did, yesterday. She bought the bag as a tourist in China and apparently had no idea about the quote.

You have to understand something about actors, they have no Brain. I will tell you how I know this, when they are on TV they sound smart but that is only because someone wrote the words they say.

Now listen when they get out in the world, they say all sorts of stupid things because no one told them what to say.

If it was written in Chinese how is she at fault.
So why should she apologize?

In japan they sell stuff to tourists with the word gijeen written in Japanese.
It means stupid foreigner.
