The SDRAM numbers must refer to the dedicated video adapter memory, since Vista requires 512mb of RAM to even run in it's most scaled-down version (home basic)
For general purpose computing like web browsing, word processing, e-mail and watching movies, that difference in video memory isn't even noticeable. For gaming or intensive 3D animation work, it's a big difference.
The difference in Ghz is less significant than the model numbers of Core 2 Duo processors in question. The E6600 is faster than the E6400. In any event, you're talking about roughly a 15% difference in speed.

The difference in processor speed is not much, especially on an intel cpu, the difference in RAM is quite a bit, you can never have enough RAM and 128 is minuscule, you might not even be able to run a lot of new programs with that

2.4 ghz means that your proccessing speed is 2,400,000,000 hertz. that how many cycles that a signal will make in one second. (it'd be easier to explain if i could draw a picture) the more hertz you can pack into one second would mean that ur computer will be faster. and the bigger that ram is means the more programs you can have running without much lagging. ur procosser has a lot to do with that too. but depending on what you plan on doing with ur computer determines how you should make ur decision. if you are a student and you plan on using it for school, i would go with the cheaper on cuz i doubt you would notice a difference for that.

yes that is a big differance more SDRAM you have more tasks you can do with out the computer lagging on you. and the more"gHz"the better. the bigger the number the faster it is and better it is with handling multiple applications
