Okay. If you have an iPod, you have to use iTunes to load music to your player. The legal way is to pay for their songs, or rip songs from a CD you own, but it has to be in your iTunes library to load onto your player.
That being said, you can download songs from Limewire, put those songs in your iTunes library, and them transfer them to your player.

If you have a player some other brand than iPod, you can use Windows Explorer to drag and drop onto your device or use a media playing program, like Windows Media Player to organize and load your music.

IMO, iPods are overpriced and overrated. I have a Sansa e260 that I find delightful to use. Go to www.anythingbutipod.com to find reviews on any mp3 player out there.

I have an ipod nano and i love it. Yes you can use limwir ebut i think it is illegal. You can also get music from cds etc by using a disk that comes with the ipod. Ipod nano is great and easy to use!

iPods play the most basic music/video compression formats mp3, acc, mov. You can download them or rip them from your cds or dvds FROM ANY source. If you want to play music only, any iPod will do, if you've a bigger collection a nano will do, if you've a LOT of music and would like to watch videos, Video iPod is the one. They all vary in prices, so choose acordingly. I Hope this helps. Cheers. (btw, if you're buying a new one, try eBay, usually they come a LOT cheaper. I got a video one for $150.)
