Heavy bleeding, sadly, is a part of life for some girls. Don't worry, you are perfectly normal. As for not starting on the same day, that's okay too - it takes a couple of years for your periods to settle down and even then they aren't usually anything like clockwork.
If your periods are really heavy and painful then yes, it may be a good idea to go on the Pill. Although you're not having sex, it will help make your periods much lighter and less painful, not to mention much more regular. The Pill can also help clear up troublesome skin problems and decrease the risk of certain cancers. It's not for everyone, but it's worth a try and for a young person any serious side effects are very rare. I recommend you go to your local family planning centre or your GP. They will ask you some questions, take your blood pressure and so on and then if you agree to try it put you on a three month prescription. You may love it or it may just not be for you at this time, but if your periods are bothering you it's definitely worth a try. It was an absolute life saver for me. :)

When you are bleeding heavily for more than 7 days and you pass blood clots bigger than the size of grapes, you should worry. But most young girls have irregular periods and heavier bleeding. If it is causing severe pain and major life disruptions, you should see a doctor. Sometimes birth control is a great remedy. Sometimes it causes unwanted side-effects. It's a big decision to think about.

Some girls just have weird periods. Like, I miss my period every few months, but it doesn't worry me cuz I'mused to it being messed up! xD But if yours is very heavy bleeding you should go see a doctor.

How long ago did you start menstruating?
It could be that you are just irregular.
I had very heavy periods until I went on birth control. Then my periods were lighter and eventually (after a few pill packs) my periods got regulated.

Wow you sound so mislead!
Okay not all woman start on exactly the same day every month, that's ridiculous to think that. If you're getting it after every 28 days then you're normal.
Secondly you can go on B.C to regulate your period. It allows you to see exactly when you start and finish. Going on the pill doesn't matter whether you're having sex or not, it's not a requirement.
FYI, if you go on the pill you're not going to start on the same day every month, you start after you're done taking for 3 weeks of pills.

Irregular periods are very common so there's no need to worry. Really heavy bleeding may need some medical attention, however.

Every girl is different. There really is no specific time when they can start. It can also depend on your stress' and your emotions.
