Everyday us Americans have to be worried about Iraq bombing us. And when were walking down the street, we have a good chance of getting killed by a gang, and If we go to the police, there most likely to kill us thinking were going to attack them. Does anybody else agree with me?

I agree. I just hate the image that we give to other countries. Our country makes everybody fat because of all the crappy fast food joints we have. Our country revolves around the celebrities. Our country is very materialistic. Our country is polluting the world, environmentally and mentally. I just don't like the image we give to the world. I'm doing my best to not be a victim of our obesity, pollution, and celebrity stuff. I'm not obese, I don't eat fast food, I don't drive, I don't suck up to celebrities, I think I'm doing pretty well.

Where do you live, the Red Light District of East St. Louis?! Where I live in the United States, I don't have to worry about any of that stuff. Maybe you have been listening to the Liberal media too much or have been watching too many action-adventure and sci-fi movies. I love America. If you don't like it here try living in the Sudan, Africa or North Korea where you will be tortured and/or killed for not belonging to a certain political group or cult. Or try living in Iran where your own family will disown you and put out a contract on your life if you convert from Islam to some other religion. Yes, America has its problems, because people are not perfect, but it is a WHOLE LOT better than many places in this world. I love America! GOD bless the U.S.A.

While there is always an ever-present possibility of violence, I think that we in Canada (me) and the US (you) are very lucky. There are gangs everywhere. There are wackos everywhere. Yes, the world of terrorists seems to have a beef with the US, and as for Iraq ... let's not touch that subject.

I can't agree that the police are most likely to kill you. There have only been isolated instances of police killing innocent people who are trying to get their assistance. Criminals or suspects of crimes are more prone to those killings by fearful or overzealous cops.

I've got to say that Canada seems to have fewer examples of the mayhem that often occurs throughout the US, but we have our fair share of sickos here, too.

None of this can compare, however, to the harsh conditions in so many countries around the world. When they don't have clean water to drink and lack innoculations against some of the diseases that we have all but eradicated, I'd say they have more to worry about than Americans. So many countries have been torn apart by war on their soil. Children are killed. Women get raped by groups of so-called soldiers.

This is not to say that Canada and the US are ideal, but I'll take our brand of madness over theirs any day.

Not really. I guess the Iraq thing is kinda true, but you're more likely to get killed by a family/friend member than a gang just popping outta an alley. I read it in Reader's Digest.

I don't agree with you. Where else can you live & own what is yours & not worry about when the next bomb will hit? Sure, there's Canada but they have problems of their own. I wouldn't trade America for anywhere else! I'm proud to be an American. If you aren't, maybe you should condier moving to somewhere "safer"!

No, I don't agree with you and I have lived all over the world.

If you don't like America, try living in Iraq, Afghanistan, Darfur, Colombia, South Africa, or a million other places with worse violence and crime than we have here.

you can't live your life being afraid to die. We are all going to die. Europe has been dealing with terrorists for a long time. Be positive, not scared, you will feel better if you concentrate on positive things.

You have to remember that america is a lot better than many other countries in terms of both government (excluding current political leaders)and social stability- if i had a choice of living anywhere it would be in either america or switzerland. and its "we americans" not "us americans"
