No, presently you can see Venus only in the evening. From sunset till before midnight. If you see now in June or July 2007 a bright star in the morning it's definitely not Venus.

Caution: Venus is the "morning star" and Venus is the "evening star". But in the time period when Venus is visible in the evening it is NOT visible in the morning. (and vice versa)

If you see in this summer a bright "star" in the morning in the west, it's Jupiter.

umm venus is rising in the evening right now so no its not the last star in the morning, unless you see it after the sun has risen.

admittedly i don't know what you are seeing. mars, capella and aldebaran all are up in the early morning yet none of them are even nearly as bright as venus.

you might be looking at capella, it is fairly close to the sun and it is pretty bright so it likely would be one of the last stars you would see in the morning. it is in the constellation of auriga, near the constellations of taurus and perseus.

btw just because it is bright doesn't mean it is big.

i assumed that you were looking near the sun since venus is always closer to the sun than we are it is never too far away form it. but if you are looking elsewhere then it could be jupiter which is brighter than everything else in the sky right now other than the sun and moon.

Yes and it's also the first star you see at night. It's big and bright because it's close and about the same size as Earth.

Yes. It is also the first star to appear at night. It's called a star even though it's a planet because ancient people had no way of distinguishing between the two.
