I'm already somewhat skinny but I want to look really good when my boyfriend comes home next week.

If you already look good, then there is no point trying to change yourself - it would be impossible to that in a week anyway! Besides, I'm sure your boyfriend really wont be able to tell a difference and probably doesn't care about how much weight you put on/lose in a week.

No, that's probably not even possible if you were an anorexic. Your boyfriend is dating you for a reason, don't worry about that, once he's home you guys are going to have so much fun being together, he isn't going to concentrate on your weight. He thinks your beautiful already, no need to impress him like that. If you want to shed some pounds for yourself, take walks during the day, park farther away from the store when you go to the mall or something, and just try to incorporate more exercise into your day. Try eating a lot of 'color'. Seriously, the more colorful your diet is, the better. (Carrots, apples, grain, celery, salad, lemons... see? It's like a rainbow.. haha). Drink a TON of water, it will flush you out and helps you lose weight. I lost about twenty pounds a couple years ago just by drinking more water. Good luck, and have fun with your boyfriend! Plan some fun things to go do!

Sweetheart, love your body.

How old are you? How tall? If you're already "somewhat skinny" then leave it at that. If your boyfriend is a good man/young man then he won't care what you look like. Besides, if you starve yourself and work yourself to death all week your body and brain won't be well enough to enjoy his presence.

There's no feasable way you can lose 10 pounds in a week. This may sound frank, but that is an insane thought! Your body can only release about 3 pounds of fat per week and that's on a strict (but healthy!) diet and exercise.

If you're already skinny work on toning your body instead of trying to lose weight. Eat healthy foods. Drink lots of water. Exercise in moderation. Your skin will glow and so will you.

Don't crash-diet or take freaky pills that will mess with your heart and natural metabolisms, okay? And never modify your body for a man.

Best of luck.

Hey ya know what. Not many people can lose that much in a week. But this worked for my 60-year-old aunt whose BMI Index indicated her seriously overweight condition. She then took the advice of a dietician and started some kind of vegetarian diet .She only ate home-made salad containing roman lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, strawberries mixed with little olive oil and balsamic vinegar(for lunch and dinner). She also ate only oatmeal for breakfast and allowed herself little protion of meat at dinner. She was advised not to eat after 8 or 9 pm and no bed-time snacks because your metabolism slows down at night and will store away the fat you have eaten. She bearly did any exercise and guess what? She lost 9 pounds in 7 days!!! It shocked her dietician when the BMI results came out. It's been a year now and she hasn't lost any more weight. It's stable now and she's eating normal again. But you must continue to avoid greasy food, fried or sugary food.

He should love you no matter your size :)

Eat right and work out.

Lots of water, no sodas or junk food, cardio 30 minutes a day.

You might not lose 10 pounds, but you will be healthier. From what I hear 10 pounds in a week is unhealthy for your body and you'll just end up gaining it back quickly.

No, there is not safe way to lose 10 pounds in a week. Even if you go to the gym and stuff, it is only safe to lose 3 pounds a week.

You HAVE to exercise to loose 10 pounds in a week. No diet can do that. A diet will take much longer, and starving won't be any good either.

probably not.

each pound of fat equals 3500 calories. the average person needs about 2000 a day to survive. so you would need to eat nothing as well as excercise an amount equaling 1500 calories. To lose those ten pounds in that amount of time would be very unhealthy.

Simple answer... no.

You won't lose more than a couple of pounds of body fat in a week. If you lose more it will be through dehydration or loss of muscle mass. Neither of these is healthy.

Take five or ten weeks to lose ten pounds, and keep it off instead.
