Micheal Jordan is the greatest to play above-the-rim while Larry Bird is the greatest to play below-the-rim.
To quote Tom Heinsohn, "Larry Bird played chess while everybody played checkers. He is always two steps ahead of everybody!" ...couldn't run, couldn't jump, couldn't stop either!

Don't need to jump when you have an absolutely devastating jumpshot and could pass the rock.
He was 6'9". People say Dirk Nowitzki is like him, but Dirk can't handle the ball as well, and isn't as instinctive a passer. He can shoot REALLY well in crunch time....think MJ or Reggie Miller in a slower, paler, bigger body. The dude was CLUTCH.
