If you mean about brain productivity, a 40 yr old man should be greater than a 80 yr old man, but if you ask who is wiser, it is relative, depends on his social relationship and knowledge to decide right and wrong.

depends on their experience in life. an 80 yr old may be smarter or the 40 yr old may be, there are too many variables to tell.

The 40 year old should ,but we have many that haven't done their home work and almost missed the train. I know i am 76 and physically I have lost a lot but the technical part is doing fine.

smart is relative: has many correlating variables...they may be equally "smart"
