No its not Hugo Sanchez's fault. Its just that we are in a transition of change. La Volpe's style of play was very different from that of today. Players like Perez, Zinha, and other players have been left out while new players like Magallon, Castillo, and Pinto have appeared. Trust me by World Cup qualification, Mexico will be playing at its best

Mexico is a very good team but I think they are just going through a transition right now and they will get better. I don't think it's all Hugo Sanchez's fault. You also have some players whom are getting old but there is some young talent that will get better and be able to take on the roles that the great veterans that they have when they retire. Plus I also think that since Hugo Sanchez is still new to the team, the team just needs time to adjust to his way of coaching. Sometimes change isn't always easy and takes time to adjust to. I'm sure Mexico will get better with time. I also wouln't worry too much about the current ranking as I don't think they are really that accurate. Good luck to Mexico in Copa America.
Edit: Rockabilly is also right in saying that Mexico played a great game against the US and they should be proud that they did. They played great and no one can deny them that. They deserve a lot of credit for that and respect as well. They have my respect.

The Cardinals are the only ones. they have a sturdy rotation, a helpful offense and play some good protection. they have Albert Pujols and Matt Holliday, they only are no longer as mentally sturdy because of the fact the Phillies. They have been given swept by utilising the Dodgers final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, then the Dodgers went directly to lost in 5 video games as against the Phils so i do no longer evaluate the enjoying cards huge opposition. they're group is very almost the comparable as final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, so in the event that they could no longer win final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days , how can they be a respectable contender this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days? Mets could be fortunate to make the playoffs. Braves are minor contenders. Brewers have greater. Dodgers are becoming worse. Giants nonetheless have not got an offense. on the top of the day the Phillies are extra powerful than the different group interior the NL.

Yeah Hugo Sanchez talked a lot during the LaVolpe era but he is only doing worse. And we're ranked #26 that's the lowest the mexican national team has ever been ranked. It's not just the players, it's the coach too. And Hugo promises a world cup........

no its not gettin worse it might seem like it is but its just that they have a new team and are just getting to know each others ways of playing. they will get better as time goes by, hugo sanchez is not really to blame for all the bad games, a team needs to have communication and without it they will be all over the place messing up. they have a leader back in the team, rafa marquez. and about the fifa ranking well its really not all that important, fifa ranks teams depending on how they are in their region, like mexico was the best in concacaf last year, still is believe, but there are still better national teams out there and thats why they are ranked higher. mexico will get a better rank later on , youll see. just relax watch em take you for the ride as they play some great soccer and even when they have bad games, VIVA MEXICO!

I am neither blaming or defending Hugo not stating that Lavolpe is better, the rankings being mentioned just show that a process was being followed. #4 is a dream, Mexico in the top 5? in the top 10 is more believable (as per results) Let´s give it some time still and we will see how far can we get with Hugo

LOL!!!! I cant believe they were #4. they shouldve been
# 26 last year. Now they should be #100. The truth is
Mexico soccer has been going down the drain for a
while now. I dont think its Hugo s fault. But I do think
Hugo should stop talking crap and making excuses.
I think thats all he s good for. He used to talk alot of
crap when Lavolpe was coach. Look at him now. People
think just because they are running around like crazy
and making a few passes here and there makes them
a great team. Come on lets be for real here. Brazil,
Argentina, Germany, England, Italia, and Sometimes
Spain. Now those teams know how to play soccer. But
not mexico!!!! Thats the truth. They also lost to Paraguay!
They lost to Colombia. Come on people Mexico has lost
that title of being el medo medo de CONCACAF. USA
has been growing. And USA hasnt being growing by the
help of the media like how the mexican media been doing
to the MEX team. USA has been growing by playing well
every year since the 1994 world cup.
QUE VIVA USA!!!!!!!

Rafael couldnt have said it any better...Yes Mexico is not playing at a level like they should have but then again they dont have anyone to blame but themselves...This NEW team under Sanchez is relatively young and still trying to play uner Sanchez's style of play..I couldnt agree more that was Mexico was a much better team under LaVolpe...The man was tactical genius...The rankings dont mean and wont mean anything until the World Cup...As a matter of factmany of those top 20 teams didnt even make it in the World Cup last year...Its very inaccurate...

just wait till the World Cup,they will be ranked Much Higher like top 10,once they get used to the style of play Sanchez's wants.
plus Blanco and Borgetti are getting old and they shouldn't play in the world cup.Dont Worry about there Rank right now,its way to early.they have 3 years to get a better rank.

i am not a fan of mexico, but this is hugo sanchez fault. during the gold cup mexico never really had a dominating performance teams that they were suppose to be blowing out they beat by a small margin they were scraping victories. i don't think they belong in the top ten cause if u look at the teams that are there is mexico really better than anyone one of them? i would say no.
