About department stores?

I'm not sure if the word hate would fit but what I have found so different and conflicting is the sense of community. I think most would miss the stores being in their home town as far as community goes. but i guess community moved out of town and now the streets are mall paved. it keeps the atmosphere close. I think the mall has something to do with the rising price of products in the small town stores making them compete or go out of business. I think of all the feelings i could have about department stores would be when they group themselves together and knock another store out of business.

Pushy sales people...especially at the more upscale stores. It's almost as if they think you are going to steal something and practically follow you through the store. I refuse to go into a store like that...where I feel pressured.
I also hate it when they ask if you need help shopping. I think I know how to look at the merchandise and price tags and then decide if I want to buy anything or not.
"Can I help you?"

I hate that there never seems to be enough checkers to check out your items. I can shop, try-on, and select for myself, but I do need someone to pay the money too. Seems like there are never enough of these...

The women that won't give you free perfume samples! How else we gonna afford all that expensive perfume.

people taking their own sweet time inside the fitting rooms when there's a kilometric line waiting outside.
