I think a democrat, because Bush is so bad and he is a republican that it's most likely people will choose a democrat in my opinion
(and i surely hope so.)

With current trends and the fact that the democrat controlled congress has the lowest ratings of ALL time, I would say a Republican will win.
Added reasons
1. All democrat candidates are talking about taz hikes. Taht is ALWAYS a loser.
2. Democrats are NOT seen as strong on defense and their current stances are NOT helping this image. Add to that the increasing turmoil in the mideast and a possible re-start of a cold war and the dems will have a tough time.
3. Democrats are being ruled to a large degree by the Moveon do t org types and alothough loud and well funded their issues do not sit well with the majority of americans..
4. Given the current state of the democrat party all of thier candidates are running to the left. If they want to win they have to move the the center. Each day that passes makes that harder and harder. Basicially they are ceding the middle group without a fight. The Republican don't even have to spend any effort right now.
I could go on, but my lunhc break is nearly over.

It's truly hard to say. Right now, they seem to be in a race to jump into the toilet. I've never seen such low popularity ratings for both groups.
But truthfully, unless an anti-war Republican like Ron Paul gets the nomination, which still seems unlikely at this point, I think it will be difficult for the Republicans to win.
Of course, the Democrats might get dragged down by supporting the illegal amnesty, but so far, Bush is making sure that the Republicans get to take credit for that too.
It's nearly impossible for an independent to get elected in this country, but this year the two majors might just shoot themselves in the foot enough to allow it to happen. I still don't believe it, but it's the first time I'd say that it might even be possible.

Easy, a Democrat. I think that the country has too many doubts about the current administration and that they associate problems with the party as well. If the Democrats are smart they'll pick O'Bama and they'll win some conservative votes.

I am one hundred percent sure it will be either a Democrat or a Republican. An independent candidate won't be elected president.

I think it will all come down to if Bush veto's the illegal immigration amnesty or not. If he vetos it, there will be a republican president in 2008. If he passes it, there will be a democrat president in '08.

Hard to tell at this point seeing the Democrats in Congress are spiking themselves and Bush is still Bush.

IT PROBABLY WILL BE A REPUBLICAN AS THEY HAVE SURPRISES UP THEIR SLEEVES.
ZELL MILLER WOULD BE MY GUY IF HE WOULD RUN.
THE INDEPENDENTS WILL NOT WIN BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH ZING....
HILLARY HAS A GOOD CHANCE TO WIN BUT DON'T THINK THE NATION IS READY FOR A WOMAN YET.
SHE HAS BEEN TO WISHY WASHY AND SAYS WHAT FITS THE MOMENT..OF COURSE THAT IS WHAT A POLITICIAN DOES AND SHES VERY GOOD AT IT.

I think it greatly depends on the tickets for each side, either could win at this point.

I hope not. I know I'm not voting for either one. The parties have too much power and all they're concerned with is keeping it. I don't necesarily want to break the two-party system, but I'd sure like to scare the pants off of both of them this election.
Who's with me!?
